Song: Underneath the Tree

My most listened-to track this past week is Underneath the Tree by Kelly Clarkson. I particularly enjoy the melody and Clarkson’s voice.

Top Christmas track 2

Artist: Mariah Carey

Song: All I Want For Christmas Is You

This next one is essential for any Christmas playlist. Mariah Carey can be considered the Queen of Christmas music. Her song, All I Want For Christmas Is You, has been a classic and frequently comes on the radio during the holiday season. I enjoy her vocals and those notes she is known to hit. Now try karaoking that!

Top Christmas track #3

Artist: Arianna Grande

Song: Santa Tell Me

In my opinion, Ariana Grande’s top Christmas track, Santa Tell Me, is another classic Ariana Grande hit. In the song, she references Let it Snow, which is not one of my favorites therefore this song is not on this list because of the lyrics. The story is the same as most of the others. It’s the melody of “Santa tell me if you’re really there/Don’t make me fall in love again”(Or the song's chorus). The verses are also pretty cool. that’s pretty much the only reason why I like it.

Top Christmas Track #4

Artist: Wham!

Song: Last Christmas

I first heard this song when my high gym teacher played it on his ever-repeating Christmas playlist. It’s a karaoke favorite of mine. I prefer Ariana Grande’s cover of the song, also entitled Last Christmas.

Top Christmas Track #5

Artist: Britney Spears

Song: My Only Wish(This Year)

This is a new one that I discovered this year. It has Britney’s classic sound, which I love, and some festivity I did not know she had. In the song, Britney says that she wants her baby. She also states that she’s been so good this year. I’ve found that many of these songs have the same general story, but are very different in the rhythm and the melody.

I have created a Spotify playlist with all of these tracks and more. I have many other Christmas tracks that I enjoy, but I want to keep it to a short five.

You’ll notice that these songs aren’t the typical Christmas carols. Some you may have never heard of and others of well known. I’ll be taking a break for the remainder of the year, as this time of year always gets busy.
